Two Headed Tasmanians

"Twice As Smart"

History Of The "Two Headed Tasmanian" Concept

Following our company participating in a trade show in Melbourne in 2001, we continually were harangued by comments about Tasmanians being two headed and where was our scar where our other head had been removed. The reality is, we have heard every joke about it and got sick to death of it, but we still had to smile. One can either respond negatively to these retorts or make it a positive and we concluded that if we meant to be 2 headed, then it would follow that we would have twice as many brains. Twice as many brains means we would be twice as smart and hence we coined the term "Two Headed Tasmanian - twice as Smart".

We went back to the trade show with a large sign of a two headed Tasmanian and it was so popular, visitors requested copies of it. The first idea was a postcard so with an initial run of 2000, we trialed the concept. The last order was for 20,000, so popular was the response. We have since moved into a variety of products and have now registered the business name - "Two Headed Tasmanian", so watch it grow.

Our range includes postcards, magnets, caps, two headed bears, cups, stubby holders, computer mouse pads, chocolates and a range of clothing etc.

The idea is to laugh at ourselves, recognise that we Tasmanians are actually twice as smart, and have a bit of fun. In any case we do have the last laughs at least we have the choice as to which head we would keep, it's just a pity that some of our mainland brothers have to sport such an array of natures disappointments - But You Get That!

Not everyone likes the concept but that's life. Let's see who has the last laugh. I think it will be me and you.
